A Year 13 student at A Skipton Sixth Form has been selected for the Commonwealth Championships in Canada.
Josh Draper in Year 13 at Ermysted's Grammar School in Skipton, has been selected as a reserve for the Under-23 England Bench Press Team for the 2026 Commonwealth Championships in Canada in September.
The selection comes after multiple successes in powerlifting.
In the last year, Josh has won 7 regional competitions. He came 2nd in 2026 England Bench Press Championships (U66) for Under-23s and he came 4th in Under-23s Great British Bench Press Championships.
Ermysted's Grammar School which is an all boys school located on Gargrave Road, congratulated Josh for his selection saying:
