Settle Beer Festival makes a welcome return next month, thanks to supporters of a local children’s charity.
Volunteers from The Principle Trust have stepped in to run this year’s event, which will feature live music from local bands and showcase 20 cask ales from local producers including Settle, Ilkley, Amity, Bowland and Wishbone Breweries.
Based in Skipton, The Trust provides free respite holidays to children who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, have life-limiting conditions, mental health issues or who have experienced poverty, trauma or abuse.
Now in its sixth year, the festival runs at Settle Victoria Hall from Thursday 7th to Saturday 9th August and is expected to attract casual visitors as well as real ale enthusiasts.
Cider, wine and soft drinks will also available, alongside food and entertainment in Miss Victoria's Refreshment Gardens.
Several local businesses are supporting the event, including Walker Foster Solicitors who are sponsoring both the festival program and a barrel of beer.
All funds raised will be split equally between Settle Victoria Hall and The Principle Trust.
Director of Settle Victoia Hall, Ann Harding, said:
“This year’s festival promises to be another crowd-puller with plenty to keep everyone entertained, both within our historic Grade II music hall and in our adjoining tea gardens.
“We’re hugely grateful to everyone who is supporting this year’s event.”
The festival will be open from 5pm to 10pm on Thursday, and from noon to 10pm on the Friday and Saturday.
Entry is free, with tokens available to purchase beer & ciders. Settle Victoria Hall Beer Festival Glasses are also available at £4; these can be kept as a souvenir or returned for a refund.
