Skipton charity receives Easter egg donation to brighten children's holidays

The Principle Trust Children’s Charity is delighted to announce a series of generous Easter egg donations from local businesses, helping to bring joy to children supported by the charity this Easter.

A total of 142 Easter eggs have been kindly donated to the Skipton based charity by Sisk, A59 Kex Gill Project Office, along with their contractors, Whitelocks in Gargrave. These eggs will ensure that every child staying across the charity’s eight respite homes during the Easter holidays receives a special seasonal surprise.

In total, 56 children will benefit directly from this thoughtful gesture. The remaining eggs will be distributed among the charity’s Referring Partners including IDAS North Yorkshire, enabling them to gift Easter treats to other children they support.

In addition, Broadway House Chambers in Leeds and Broadway House Chambers in Bradford have donated 50 Easter eggs each. These have been shared with the charity’s Referring Partners Mind in Leeds, and Mind in Hull and East Yorkshire, ensuring even more children can enjoy an Easter treat.

Mike Davies MBE, Founder of The Principle Trust Children’s Charity, said:

“These acts of kindness highlight the power of community collaboration and generosity. The Principle Trust Children’s Charity extends its sincere thanks to all donors for their support in making Easter a little brighter for children facing adverse experiences and their families.”

Broadway House are celebrating its 100th anniversary by doing something for charity each month. This month, they donated 100 Easter eggs to The Principle Trust.

Since its launch in 2011 by founder Mike Davies MBE, The Principle Trust Children’s Charity has provided respite breaks for almost 6,000 children from across the region through its homes in Blackpool, Filey, and the Lake District. The charity now owns eight respite homes, enabling it to support around 308 families each year, giving children facing adversity - including mental health challenges, trauma, abuse, poverty, serious illness, and disabilities - the chance to enjoy life-changing breaks away from their daily struggles.
