A Skipton apprentice has been recognised for his achievements after receiving an award celebrating emerging talent in the farming industry.
Alfie Wright, who recently completed his Level 2 General Farm Worker Apprenticeship while working on his family's dairy farm, was honoured at the Best Agricultural Student Awards organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society.
The annual awards recognise outstanding agricultural students from colleges and universities across the North of England, celebrating the next generation of people entering the farming industry.
They are traditionally presented during the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate.
Alfie completed his apprenticeship with an overall Merit grade and was praised for his commitment, practical skills and professional approach throughout his training.
Presenting the award, the Yorkshire Agricultural Society said:
"Throughout his training, Alfie demonstrated an excellent attitude, outstanding attendance, and a strong commitment to learning, achieving an overall Merit grade.
"Alfie has developed a solid range of practical farming skills and approaches his work with enthusiasm, reliability, and professionalism.
"He consistently maintains high standards and has shown maturity beyond his years in balancing the demands of both his apprenticeship and responsibilities on the farm.
"Looking to the future, Alfie plans to take over the family contracting business, highlighting his ambition and dedication to agriculture."
The Best Agricultural Student Awards celebrate the achievements of students and apprentices who have shown excellence in agricultural education and practical farming, recognising those helping to shape the future of the industry.
Alfie was among a number of students recognised for their achievements at this year's awards ceremony.
