A public meeting is being held later this month as part of community efforts to restore the dilapidated pavilion in Silsden park.
The building dates back to 1935 and has become in a poor state over the years, with various attempts to restore it over the years not reaching fruition.
It was previously used by the town's youth sports teams, and a survey among Silsden residents confirmed a preference for restoration of the pavilion rather than demolition and rebuilding.
A proposal was put forward to make the building safe, watertight and structurally sound using £210,000 from Bradford Council through 'Section 106' contributions made by companies that have built houses in Silsden. This has yet to materialise.
A 'Friends of Silsden Pavilion' group will be formed to manage the building and apply for further funding to enhance its community use.
The public meeting takes place on Sunday 23rd February at 2pm at Silsden Town Hall.
