North Yorkshire Council has released a warning to the public about Met Office's weather warnings for this weekend and Wednesday 8th January.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow from noon on Saturday until midnight on Sunday and an amber warning for snow from 9pm on Sunday until midnight on Sunday.
Heavy snow is expected to lead to disruption.
North Yorkshire Council released a post on Facebook saying:
"Please take extra care if travelling and drive according to the conditions.
"Please look out for others, particularly older neighbours, family or friends who may need extra support."
An amber cold-health alert has also been issued until 12 noon on Wednesday 8 January.
