The voice of Test Match Special ‘Blowers’, Henry Blofeld brings his wit and wisdom to the Silsden Town Hall's stage as part of the autumn/winter programme. Plus Nikky Smedley, the yellow Teletubby, lifts the lid on the behind the scenes of a children’s television show!
An audience with Henry Blofeld is on Saturday 31st August.
Our autumn season kicks off with Silsden Festival of Ideas, a selection of nine engaging talks taking place over three days, delivered by some of the finest speakers. Martin Lunn returns to explore Viking and Arabic Astronomy, Neil Hanson presents his laugh-a-minute account of running Britain’s highest pub, and David Mason takes a look at Silsden’s past through the eyes of four very different men.
Sports journalist and broadcaster, Henry Blofeld visits us in August to share his life story ahead of the cricket season end. In October, the Grumbleweeds are joined by an eight piece band in ‘Bring on the 80’s’ before Nikky Smedley, the yellow Teletubby, lifts the lid on the behind the scenes of a children’s television show.
Comedians Daliso Chaponda, The Noise Next Door and Howard Walker offer three very different flavours of stand-up, before a trio of Christmas shows, What the Dickens, The Snowman with Bradford Concert Band, and a tribute to Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. All of this, plus chart topper Kiki Dee, returning blues icon Chantelle McGregor, and a selection of local performers, it promises to be a season to remember.
The full autumn/winter programme can be downloaded here.
Tickets to all of Silsden Town Hall’s events can be purchased online at silsden.live, or from the Town Hall box office weekdays between 10am and 2pm.
