An independent bookshop in Skipton is preparing to begin a new chapter as it changes ownership this weekend.

From Sunday (2nd August), The Little Bookshop in Craven Court will become The Fine Print Bookshop, with local resident Isobel taking over the business alongside her mum, Jo.

The Little Bookshop team announced the change on social media, thanking customers for their support over the past two and a half years and expressing confidence that the shop will continue to thrive under its new owners.

In a message to customers, the outgoing team said:

"We've had the loveliest two and a half years getting to know everyone in Skipton, but we know your bookshopping is safe in the new team's hands."

Isobel, who describes herself as a fan of poetry, fantasy, classics, genre-bending fiction and gothic literature, said she is looking forward to becoming part of the town's book-loving community.

She said:

"Hello, Skipton! I'm so excited to introduce myself. I'm Isobel, the soon-to-be new owner of the indie bookshop in Craven Court.

"I'm looking forward to meeting you all in person. Let me know your favourite books in the comments!"

The new owners also hope to establish book clubs and create a welcoming space for readers of all ages in the town.

Customers who have supported The Little Bookshop over the last two and a half years are being encouraged to call in before the changeover to say goodbye to the current team, while Isobel and Jo will officially welcome readers to The Fine Print Bookshop from 2nd August.
