Friends of the Dales is hosting two free events aimed at helping people learn more about wildlife and environmental issues in the Yorkshire Dales.
The first event takes place on Wednesday 17th June and includes a short circular walk from Malham village led by Ian Court, Wildlife Conservation Officer for the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.
Participants will have the opportunity to look for peregrine falcons and hear about the species’ history in the Dales, including population declines during the 1960s and subsequent recovery efforts.
A second walk later that day will be led by Jane Smart, Chair of the Malhamdale Environmental Group. The route to Janet’s Foss will focus on the local landscape, flora and fauna.
A further event is scheduled for Wednesday 1st July at Broughton Sanctuary near Skipton.
The evening session will focus on wildlife photography and will be led by award-winning photographer Rich Bunce, also known as The Walking Photographer.
Both events are free to attend, although advance booking is required.
Further information is available at www.friendsofthedales.org.uk/events.
