Changes to Craven bus services over Easter

Bus services in the Craven District will be amended over Easter weekend, and increased DalesBus services into and around the Yorkshire Dales National Park will restart for the summer season.

On Good Friday 3rd April some bus companies (including Keighley Bus Company and Upper Wharfedale Venturer) will run a Saturday service.  Other bus companies (including Burnley Bus Company and Stagecoach) will run a Sunday service.  Services operated by North Yorkshire Council and Lonsdale Buses will not run on Good Friday in the Skipton area, nor will DalesBus 59 to Harrogate.

On Saturday 4th April a normal Saturday service will run on all routes.   DalesBus 80 will restart for the summer season, running between Lancaster, Bentham, Ingleton, Ribblehead (connecting with the Yorkshire Dales Explorer train from Manchester, Clitheroe, Hellifield and Settle) and Hawes every Saturday.

On Sunday 5th April a normal Sunday service will run on all routes, including the start of Summer Sunday DalesBus timetables.
Buses will run mainly hourly throughout the day between Skipton and Malham every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday over the summer on DalesBus services 864 and 866. Buses will leave Skipton Bus Station at 9.50am, 10.50am, 11.50am, 12.50pm, 2.50pm, 3.50pm and 4.50pm, returning from opposite the Buck Inn in Malham at 10.40am, 11.40am, 12.40pm, 2.40pm, 3.40pm, 4.40pm and 5.30pm.

Northern DalesBus 830 will link Ribblehead Station with Hawes (for Wensleydale Creamery and Dales Countryside Museum), Muker, Gunnerside, Low Row (featured in the new Wuthering Heights film), Reeth, Grinton and Richmond.  The bus will leave Ribblehead Station at 10.42am every Sunday until 18th October, connecting with the train at 9.54am from Skipton and 10.16am from Settle.  The bus returns from Richmond at 4.45pm, Reeth at 5.12pm, Muker at 5.42pm and Hawes at 6.10pm, arriving at Ribblehead Station in good time for the 6.51pm train back to Settle and Skipton.

Wensleydale Explorer Bus 857 will connect at Garsdale Station with the same train from Skipton and Settle, providing access to Hawes, Askrigg and Castle Bolton every Sunday until 18th October.  The return bus connects with the 4.29pm train from Garsdale to Settle and Skipton.

Double-decker DalesBus services 875 and 876 from Grassington to Upper Wharfedale, Aysgarth and Hawes will leave from Grassington National Park Centre at 11.03am and 12.03pm every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. They will return from Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes at 2.25pm and 4.25pm.  Connections between Skipton and Grassington are available on DalesBus 72, running mainly hourly throughout the day.

On Bank Holiday Monday 6th April a Sunday service will run on most routes.  DalesBus services 830 and 857 will however not run, but Garsdale Station Shuttle bus 113 will run a normal weekday service.

The national cap on bus fares applies to all these DalesBus services, so the single fare for any journey is just £3 (£1 for under 19s). Concessionary bus passes are valid on all these buses.

Full details are available online at www.dalesbus.org and in timetable leaflets available from the libraries, visitor information centres and railway stations in Skipton and Settle.
