Share Skipton Repair Cafe

Our next Share Skipton Repair Café is on Saturday 29th August, 10am–1pm at St Andrew’s Church Hall on Newmarket Street, opposite the Share Skipton Library of Things.

Bring along something that’s broken, damaged or in need of a little TLC and our wonderful volunteer repairers will do their best to help you fix it — for free!

We’ll have volunteer repairers available for:

💍 Jewellery – treasured pieces, broken chains, clasps and more

👓 Glasses – repairs and adjustments where possible

✂️ Blade sharpening – bring along your blunt garden and household blades

🚲 Bikes – help with repairs and adjustments

🧵 Textiles – clothing, bags and other fabric items in need of repair

🔧 General repairs – all those awkward things that don’t fit neatly into another category

⚙️ Mechanical – mechanisms, moving parts and mechanical items

⚡ Electrical – electrical appliances and equipment (please bring the item rather than just the cable or component where possible)

⛺ Outdoor kit – clothing, rucksacks, tents and camping equipment

Our Repair Café is run entirely by volunteers and is completely free. We’re here to help you learn how to repair your belongings, keep useful things in use for longer and reduce the amount of stuff going to landfill.

We can’t guarantee that everything can be fixed, and there are some repairs we may not be able to safely undertake, but our brilliant volunteers will always take a look and see what they can do.

While you’re visiting, why not pop across the road and have a look at our Library of Things? We have over 700 items available to borrow, from tools and gardening equipment to camping kit, DIY equipment and much more.
