Your Ilkley, the first fully focussed radio station for Ilkley and the surrounding areas, officially launched this morning.
Rombalds Radio has now become even more local and has expanded to become two hyper-local radio stations - Your Skipton and Your Ilkley.
Your Ilkley will serve Ilkley and the surrounding areas, including Menston, Burley in Wharfedale and Addingham.
And following two weeks of test transmissions, the station officially launched with its first broadcast with Nick Hancock at 8am.
It is now available to listen to online at yourilkley.com, on smart speakers and on our free app.
Your Ilkley is being supported by our launch partner Ilkley BID.
Sarah Brookfield-Almond, Ilkley BID Manager, said:
“Ilkley BID has always been a great supporter of Rombalds Radio and we are excited about its transition to Your Skipton and Your Ilkley Radio.
“Your Ilkley is the first dedicated radio station for the town and surrounding areas, and we see it as a wonderful platform to showcase some of our fantastic businesses and local events.”
Sarah added:
“Ilkley BID already provides the Discover Ilkley website which is another great resource for finding out what our vibrant town has to offer.
“By working together we are making it even easier for anyone from Ilkley and beyond to keep their finger on the pulse with what’s happening locally.
“Look out for our first live broadcast on 23rd July which will be taking place from Outside the Box Café.”
We hope to broadcast Your Ilkley via DAB digital radio in the coming months once a new multiplex covering this area has been licensed by the government media regulator, Ofcom.
