The Principle Trust Children’s Charity is celebrating 15 years of supporting children facing adversity across Yorkshire.
The charity is marking International Day of Charity on Saturday 5th September by thanking the people, businesses and organisations who have helped it create lasting memories for thousands of children and their families.
Founded in 2011 by Mike Davies MBE, The Principle Trust provides respite breaks for children facing challenges including mental health difficulties, trauma, abuse, poverty, serious illness and disabilities.
Over the past 15 years, the charity has supported more than 6,300 children and raised £2.3 million to help continue its work.
The charity says its work gives children and their families the opportunity to spend quality time together away from the pressures they may be facing.
Mike Davies MBE, Founder of The Principle Trust, said the charity's achievements had only been possible through the support of its community.
“We have such a strong community around us and their support has been instrumental in helping us grow and deliver our mission over the past 15 years,”.
“Every act of support, no matter how big or small, helps us make a real difference.
“Our 15th anniversary is a celebration not just of what The Principle Trust has achieved, but of every person, business and organisation that has stood behind us.
“What we have learnt since starting is that to make lasting memories it really does take a community and we are incredibly grateful for everyone who has helped make that possible.”
As part of its International Day of Charity celebrations, The Principle Trust is now encouraging more individuals and businesses across Yorkshire to get involved.
Supporters can become a Patron, choose the charity as their Charity of the Year partner, take on a fundraising challenge, volunteer or make a donation.
The charity says every contribution can help provide children facing adversity with valuable time away with their families and the opportunity to create positive memories.
