Sutton-in-Craven pub raises over £600 for Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit

Kings Arms Pub

A pub in Sutton-in-Craven has raised hundreds of pounds to support patient care at Airedale Hospital.

The Kings Arms has donated £685.50 to Airedale Hospital & Community Charity, with the funds directed towards the hospital’s Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit.

The money was raised through a series of community-led activities organised by the pub’s staff and supported by local residents.

Events included an ABBA-themed afternoon, a Christmas fair and a festive Christmas tree project.

As part of the initiative, volunteers installed and decorated more than 45 Christmas trees outside homes in the village, creating a seasonal display throughout Sutton-in-Craven before collecting the trees again after the festive period.

All proceeds from the activities were donated to the charity.

The Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit at Airedale Hospital provides care and support for women and families experiencing complications during early pregnancy, offering assessment and treatment in a dedicated and supportive environment.

Jodie Hearnshaw, Charity Manager at Airedale Hospital & Community Charity, thanked those involved.

“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone at the Kings Arms and their wonderful customers.

"Their generosity will make such a meaningful difference to the families who are cared for by our Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit.”

Steve Cotterill, landlord of the Kings Arms, said the cause resonated with many in the community.

“Our customers are always keen to support local causes, and the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit is one that touches many families.

“We’re proud to contribute to a service that provides such important care for our community,”.

He also thanked staff members and volunteers who helped make the fundraising events possible.

Airedale Hospital & Community Charity supports projects that go beyond NHS funding to improve patient care, staff wellbeing and community services across the area.
