Skipton BID has hosted the first ever official launch event for the Skipton Business Awards.
The event took place at Elsworth at the Mill on Wednesday 3rd June, with more than 60 attendees gathering to find out how they could get involved including sponsoring award categories and submitting nominations.
The annual Skipton Business Awards celebrate the work of businesses and organisations across the town, recognising the contribution they make to the local community.
Sarah Howsen, Skipton BID Manager, said the launch event provided an opportunity for people to come together ahead of the awards.
She said:
“We were thrilled to host our first-ever launch event for the much-loved Skipton Business Awards, bringing our community together to kick off this year’s exciting programme.
“There was a real buzz in the room, a mix of familiar faces, new voices and businesses who are genuinely proud to be part of Skipton’s story.
“The energy, ideas and optimism on display showed just how strong our community is, and it’s exciting to see everyone coming together to celebrate what makes this town such a vibrant place to work, live and visit.”
She added:
“A huge thank you to the Elsworth at the Mill team for hosting us; it was a fantastic night to set the tone for the awards.”
Nominations and voting for this year’s awards will open on Friday 5th June and will remain open until Saturday 12th July.
Following the judging process, the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at Skipton Town Hall on Monday 5th October.
This year’s awards feature 12 categories, including returning categories such as Business Service Award, Pub/Bar of the Year and Best New Business, alongside new additions including Best Evening Entertainment Venue.
A special award will also recognise Skipton’s Shining Star, celebrating individuals and organisations making a positive contribution to the town through charitable work, volunteering, partnerships or other community-focused efforts.
