Multiple schools in Skipton have been recognised for the 2024/2025 School Games Award.
The Mark from Your School Games awards schools that show dedication to developing competitive sport within their school and community.
The School Games Mark follows the School Games’ objectives.
Schools must show how they maintain and increase engagement in the School Games, and ensure every child gets 60 active minutes per day.
They must also organise competitions that provide positive experiences tailored to students’ motivation, confidence, and abilities, focus on key transition points, such as Year 3 and Year 6/7, and how secondary schools take part in the School Games and provide equal opportunities for all young people, regardless of gender.
Many Skipton schools received the mark.
The following schools received a Platinum award:
- Christ Church CofE Primary
- Cononley Primary
- Cowling Community Primary
