North Yorkshire Police is recruiting for a new Safety Camera Officer based in Skipton.
The permanent, full-time role will form part of the force's Traffic Bureau and involve using specialist enforcement technology to help tackle dangerous driving across North Yorkshire. The successful applicant will work independently across the county's 6,000-mile road network, supporting efforts to reduce serious and fatal collisions. The position comes with a salary of between £26,106 and £28,653, plus a 14.25% shift allowance and an additional weekend working allowance. North Yorkshire Police said: “As a Safety Camera Officer, your work will directly support efforts to reduce dangerous driving and improve safety across North Yorkshire's 6,000-mile road network. “This isn't just a job. "It's an opportunity to help save lives.” The force is particularly interested in applicants with experience in driving and transport, security and enforcement, customer service, administration and data handling, military service or field-based operational roles. Applicants are expected to be organised, confident and comfortable working independently. Full training will be provided, although candidates must hold a full UK manual driving licence. North Yorkshire Police said the role offers an opportunity to directly contribute towards making roads and communities across the county safer.
