Hundreds reported to have taken part in Skipton's Nutcracker trail

Nutcracker Trail 2025

Skipton Business Improvement District (BID) has reported positive feedback following the delivery of its festive Nutcracker Trail.

The trail was organised by the BID to support local businesses during the busy Christmas period.

The trail involved 10 town centre businesses hosting large Nutcracker models, forming a route designed to encourage residents and visitors to explore different parts of Skipton’s town centre.

Data collected from the trail indicates that around 800 people completed the route, with participants travelling from nearly 60 different locations across the UK.

These included places such as Edinburgh, Dartford, Peterborough and the Lake District.

Skipton BID Manager, Sarah Howsen said the organisation was pleased with the response to the initiative.

“We were pleased to once again deliver a successful trail for the good of our town.
“We’ve received some lovely feedback from both local businesses and visitors that took part in the trail.
“It’s such an important time of the year for all of Skipton’s business community, so to be able to offer support in this way is always fantastic.
“We’ve got some exciting plans coming up for 2026, so watch this space…”

Members of the public also shared positive comments after taking part in the trail.

One visitor wrote on social media:

“We did this on our first visit to Skipton, we loved it! We will definitely be back.”

Another participant added:

“Our group of walkers took part in it this week – it was lovely! Thank you to the BID.”

Skipton BID has confirmed that the winner of the Nutcracker Trail prize package, donated by local businesses, will be selected at random in the coming days and contacted directly.
