People in Addingham are being invited to join a guided charity walk this Sunday (6th September), led by Yorkshire outdoor company Hike Yorkshire.
The walk, starting at The Fleece in Addingham, will raise money for Bowel Cancer Research UK and will take participants through the history and landscape of the village.
Walkers are asked to meet at The Fleece at 10am for coffee, with the walk setting off at 10.30am.
Voluntary donations are welcome.
Organisers are inviting local people to join the walk, whether they are familiar with Addingham or looking to discover more about the village.
Hike Yorkshire, is a veteran-led outdoor development company which runs activities and experiences across Yorkshire.
The company specialises in getting people outdoors, with guided routes across the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and Yorkshire Coast.
Its activities include navigation and map reading, first aid, foraging, teamwork and leadership, as well as more unusual experiences such as a moorland murder mystery and archaeology digs.
Hike Yorkshire also runs corporate events designed to take teams away from the traditional office environment.
Rather than conference rooms and presentations, its corporate programmes are based outdoors and are designed to combine team development, practical skills and wellbeing.
Corporate groups can choose from a range of activities, including guided walks, navigation and map reading, first aid and foraging.
There are also team-building activities where participants take turns leading the group, setting routes and making decisions in front of their colleagues.
The programmes can be tailored to individual businesses and run as half-day, full-day or multi-day experiences.
Hike Yorkshire caters for groups of at least eight people and operates with no more than eight participants per instructor.
The company handles route planning, written risk assessments, specialist equipment, minibus hire and instructor ratios, meaning businesses can arrive and take part without having to organise the logistics themselves.
The company’s instructors have backgrounds in the British Army and Royal Marines, with first aid-skilled instructors on every day.
