Glusburn nursery to celebrate 50th anniversary with community party

Shimmering Stars Nursery will celebrate five decades with a party.

The nursery is inviting generations of families to come together for a special celebration marking its 50th anniversary.

Shimmering Stars Nursery, formerly known as Sutton Playgroup, will celebrate five decades with a party on Saturday 26th September.

Past, present and future families are all being invited to join the celebrations, which will also raise money for Airedale Hospital.

The event will feature a raffle, tombola, face painting, cakes, crafts and other activities, with pizza and a drink included with every ticket.

The team are also hoping to create a special memory book documenting the history of Sutton Playgroup and are asking former families to share photographs and memories from over the years.

They said:

“Shimmering Stars Nursery, formerly Sutton Playgroup, is 50 years old!

“Everyone is welcome – past, current and future families.

"We would love to celebrate with everyone.”

All profits from the celebration will be donated to Airedale Hospital's current appeal to develop the sensory area on its children's ward.

Tickets cost £5 for adults and £2.50 for children and are being sold through Eventbrite.

Activities at the event will be cash only.
