Giggleswick School named finalist for regional award

Giggleswick School is in the running for Regional Independent School of the Year.

Giggleswick School has been named one of six finalists for a regional award recognising independent schools across the North.

The school is in the running for Regional Independent School of the Year: North at the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2026.

Giggleswick said its location on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales plays an important role in school life, giving pupils opportunities to explore, challenge themselves and build resilience.

Headmaster Sam Hart said:

“To be named as one of just six finalists for Regional Independent School of the Year: North is something of which our whole community can be incredibly proud.

“Giggleswick has always been shaped by its location and its community.

"Our pupils have the space and opportunity to challenge themselves, discover what they are capable of and develop the confidence to embrace life beyond school.”

The Independent Schools of the Year Awards celebrate achievements across the UK independent education sector, with categories covering different areas of school life.

Winners of this year's awards will be announced at a ceremony in London on Wednesday 14th October.

Giggleswick School said it was “incredibly proud to be flying the flag for the North” after reaching the final six.
