A team from Ilkley-headquartered estate agent Dacre Son & Hartley has completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in difficult conditions to raise money for The Principle Trust Children’s Charity.
The group set off before 7am to tackle the 24-mile challenge, which takes in the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. Conditions proved particularly challenging around Whernside, where the walkers faced torrential rain, strong winds and slippery ground. Despite the weather, all members of the team completed the challenge safely, arriving back between 5.10pm and 5.45pm after around ten-and-a-half hours on the route. The Dacre Son & Hartley team was joined by participants from iamsold, Kempston-Parkes Chartered Surveyors and Mortgage Advice Bureau - Brook Financial Services. Dacre Son & Hartley is one of Yorkshire's longest-established estate agents, with a history stretching back more than 200 years. Headquartered in Ilkley, the independent firm has a network of 17 offices across North and West Yorkshire, including branches in Ilkley, Burley-in-Wharfedale and Skipton. A spokesperson for Dacre Son & Hartley said: “We couldn’t be prouder of the team after an incredible day taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in aid of The Principle Trust Children's Charity. “Despite this, the team showed incredible strength, determination and support for one another, all arriving safely back between 5.10pm and 5.45pm. What an achievement!” Money raised from the challenge will support The Principle Trust Children's Charity, which provides free respite breaks to disadvantaged, disabled and poorly children and their families. The Skipton-based charity was founded in 2011 and works with families across Yorkshire, providing holidays at its holiday homes and lodges. Fundraising from the Three Peaks challenge remains open, with Dacre Son & Hartley thanking everyone who has already donated and encouraging further contributions.
