Concert in Skipton to raise money for Dementia

Two local charities are joining forces for a special evening of live entertainment aimed at celebrating talent from across Craven while raising money to support their work in the community.

Dementia Forward and Skipton Step Into Action will host the Sounds of Craven Community Concert at Skipton Town Hall on Thursday 8th October.

The event will bring together local musicians, choirs and performers for an evening showcasing the creativity and talent found across the area.

The line-up will include the Voices of Yorkshire Choir, Skipton Ukulele Band, talented young musicians, TNG Accordion Group and a special performance from the SSIA Nurturing Growth Singers.

Money raised from the event will be shared between Dementia Forward and Skipton Step Into Action, helping both charities continue their work supporting local people.

Dementia Forward is a leading dementia charity for North Yorkshire, supporting more than 5,000 families affected by dementia.

The charity provides personalised emotional and practical support, information and advice, alongside wellbeing services and specialist support for people living with young onset dementia.

Its work aims to help people affected by dementia remain connected, supported and able to live well within their local communities.

Skipton Step Into Action works to support children, young people and families in the Skipton and Craven area, with a focus on improving wellbeing, building confidence and creating opportunities for people to get involved in their community.

The Sounds of Craven concert aims to not only raise vital funds, but also celebrate the people, organisations and talent that make the Craven area special.

The organisers are inviting local residents to come along, enjoy an evening of live music and performances, and support two charities working to make a difference locally.
