Oliver! at King's Hall Ilkley this week

Oliver! opens at the King's Hall on Wednesday

Ilkley Amateur Operatic Society’s first production since Cinderella in March 2020 will open on Wednesday at The King’s Hall.

Oliver! is a new staging for the society, but has a strong personal link to the past. Laura Judge delighted the audience as Nancy in the show’s last outing; now her daughter Chloe is taking on the role. Joining her in the cast are newcomer Nick Ward as Oliver and long-standing member Barnaby Killan as the Artful Dodger. Gary Holmes takes on the role of Mr Bumble and Dale Chadwick is Bill Sykes. As usual, there is a strong ensemble cast, many doing multiple quick changes for the various background scenes.

Director Mark Allan is very excited to have his troupe live on stage again at last.

Oliver! runs at Kings Hall from Wednesday to Saturday, with evening performances at 7.15pm Tuesday to Friday and on Saturday at 1pm and 6pm. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are socially distanced performances.
