A Keighley dental practice which treats patients from across Skipton has been shortlisted in six categories at this year’s Private Dentistry Awards.
Taylored Dental Care has been named a finalist for the awards, which will take place at Grosvenor House in London on 20 November 2026.
The practice was shortlisted from more than 1,000 entries and is hoping to continue its success in the ‘Treatment of Nervous Patients – North’ category.
Taylored Dental Care has previously won the category for two consecutive years, in 2024 and 2025.
The practice underwent a major transformation in 2025, with the former Santoni Italian restaurant completely renovated to create a new dental practice specifically designed around the needs of nervous and phobic patients.
The move, completed in November 2025, saw Taylored Dental Care relocate from its former premises on Cavendish Street, where it had been based since opening in 2009.
The new practice has been designed to move away from the traditional clinical environment which can be intimidating for some patients.
One of the features is ‘The Snug’, a dedicated waiting area designed to feel more like a living room and provide an alternative to sitting in a communal waiting area.
TV screens have also been installed on the ceilings above every dental chair, allowing patients to watch calming videos during treatment, while calming music is played throughout the practice.
Patients can also access a ‘Little Box of Calm’, containing items including fidget toys and noise-cancelling headphones.
A ‘Clicker’ is also available, allowing patients to signal to the dental team if they want treatment to pause or need to take a break.
The larger premises have also allowed the practice to expand its team and bring together expertise in restorative dentistry, implant dentistry, oral surgery, sedation and advanced dentures.
The team says the new practice represents a significant step forward from its beginnings as a single-chair site in 2009.
With the practice serving patients from Skipton and the surrounding area, the team is now looking forward to the awards ceremony in November.
They said:
"We’re proud of our national recognition for treating nervous patients and for serving the community for 17 years, and are looking forward to the award ceremonies".
